Blueberry Cinnamon Frozen Yogurt

I love fall. My birthday is in the fall. The weather shifts, the sun sits lower on the horizon and the ocean has a beautiful clarity about it. Here is my late summer-early fall frozen yogurt favorite.

1 lb frozen or fresh blueberries

1 1/2 c  whole milk plain yogurt

1/2 c whole milk

3 T lemon juice

1 c sugar

1/2 t cinnamon

pinch of salt

Bring the blueberries to a simmer in a small heavy bottomed sauceapan. Add the sugar, cinnamon and lemon juice. Heat slowly and simmer for 10 minutes till the blueberries start to break down. I like to use a hand immersion blender. I can easily gauge how much blueberry chunk I want in the mix. Let the blueberries cool. Mix the yogurt and milk together and add the cooled blueberries. Cover and place in the frig for at least an hour. Process in the your ice cream maker.
